There’s a real wow factor when you first open it up and see that screen.Īs for the screen itself, the got the 4K touch version and it also has the Full HD version which will give you more battery life comparatively. They introduced it last year but they seem to have taken it away this year. Sadly though, we no longer get the option of having an OLED screen on the XPS. I think it’s a great trackpad, I don’t think I’ll need to bring a mouse on the go but you’re not gonna love this if you’re coming from a Macbook. It’s got a frosted glass surface, great texture, accurate tracking, and the only real complaint is the clicking mechanism. You also have a fingerprint sensor/power button on the top right, it’s quick but it won’t register if you only have half of your finger on there which isn’t something that we see with the MacBook Pro.Ĭomparing with the MacBook Pro, this trackpad just isn’t going to be as good but it’s a pretty solid trackpad. It’s got a great layout, good key travel, it’s got white LED backlighting. This keyboard is actually one of the better keyboards that I’ve used so far, not quite as nice as Apple’s chiclet-style keyboards. The rubber feet on the bottom raises the laptop for airflow and they are very grippy, this thing does not slip around. The hinge tension is pretty good, although it’s a bit on the stiffer side so it’s not exactly a one-hand open and there are also five LEDs on the side of the laptop that tells you your battery life. The laptop is made out of aluminum with a soft-touch carbon fiber material for the keyboard deck and palm rest area.

Again, giving us that MacBook Pro vibe, it just feels more modern and refined which is lovely to use. It’s a great keyboard and paired with this huge new precision touchpad.
The keys also have a more rubbery less plasticky feel to them last year and it’s still one of the quietest keyboards as well but no less tactile or responsive. So, it feels more spacious and comfortable to type on. Compared to last year, you can see the keycaps and the whole keyboard itself have been widened. There is no much improvement in design but the lesser ones also count. The new XPS 9500 has thin bezels with a new aspect ratio which 16 by 10 instead of 16 by 9. We’re actually getting the biggest design overhaul to the XPS lineup in about four years. It’s got super-thin bezels, it’s got a 100 percent Adobe RGB like this thing is awesome, it’s one of the main features that drew my attention and it’s also a well-respected laptop. It’s a thin and light 15-inch laptop with pretty good performance and a killer screen. The design and performance of this XPS 9500 are really great but not much as XPS 17. It offers some changes and improvements which will make the buyers happy. This is the latest upgraded 15-inch laptop in the XPS lineup.
